Katie McDonald - Vocals
My musical career got off to an interesting start at school. While at St Joseph's school and studying for my GCSE's I begged my mam to ask the school to allow me to drop out of GCSE music. I just couldn't get my head around all those dots, lines and squiggles!

My singing career kicked off in The Longship pub in Hebburn. With a bit of Dutch courage (well OK, a lot) I began singing at their karaoke nights and became known as the girl who sings 'Don't Stop Believing'.

In 2009 I entered a singing contest which was organised by the call centre where I worked and won the local heat. I then took part in the national finals in Portsmouth and won that as well. Shortly thereafter I went to work as an entertainer at Haven Caravan Parks and while I loved the singing I wasn't so keen on having to shepherd hoards of kids during the day and left in September 2010.

I decided to go it alone and announced to my dad that I was going to save up for my own PA system so that I could start singing around the local pubs. "No you're not!" said my dad who promptly went out and bought a PA system for me, well he is my biggest fan and supporter.

The City Road Survivors are the first live band I've ever sang with. It's a lot different to singing along to backing tracks but I'm loving it.
